Young Person’s Counselling

“True kindness lies in understanding the needs of others even when they are incapable of expressing them”.

Do you have a tough time handling stress?  Are you a constant worrier an overthinker who is hard on yourself?  Do you think you have no friends, and even “freak out” at times “for no reason”?  Well counselling may be something that would help you.  In a confidential setting, Gail will support you in exploring and understanding some of the difficulties that you are experiencing and possibly look at ways to do things and think things differently.  Gail believes, the first sign of strength is to ask for support.

Common counselling issues that Gail works with; abuse, anxiety, attachment, separation and social anxiety, stress, low mood, depression, bereavement and loss, blended families, bullying, exam stress, changes in your behaviour, communication, cultural, development, disordered eating, family conflict, bereavement and loss, gender, parental issues, illness, self-esteem, self-harm, stress, sexuality, violence, worry and fear, relationship difficulties, parental separation, and divorce.

“My goodness, how to express my gratitude for your kindness and patience.  Honestly, don’t tell them but out of all the 5 counsellors/therapists I’ve had, from CAMHS to Family Services, you were the best by a mile.  You have not only helped me through the worst time of my life but have taught me so many valuable lessons that I am going to carry with me through my life’s journey.  Thank you, you have saved me.”

Kalila, aged 18

“Thank you so much for your help and support, you have given me a new positive perspective in life.”

Olivia, aged 16

“A massive thank you for everything you have done for me this past year, my mental well-being has improved in so many ways, thanks to you!  I’ve always felt completely open to speaking my mind in our sessions.  I don’t think I would have survived the exam season and this past year without you!”

Sam, aged 18

“There really is no way of putting into words how much you have helped me, but I hope you know how much your support has meant to me.  I’ve met a lot of counsellors and psychologists over the years and I can genuinely say you’ve been my favourite.”

Sana, aged 18
