“If you are depressed you are living in the past, if you are anxious you are living in the future, if you are at peace you are living in the present.”
Lao Tzu
Gail believes that children and young people thrive in families where relationships are positive and free from destructive conflict. Families can be a source of support, encouragement, and love but sometimes relationships within families are put under strain and family members feel isolated or overlooked.
Family counselling is for any family members who want to improve things at home which have communication or relational issues. All families have arguments at some time, and big changes can affect parents, stepparents, grand-parents and of course children. Gail provides a safe space for you to explore your differences and difficulties between family members and help you work things out in a way that is best for everyone. Gail doesn’t take sides or tell you what to do but she does really care about helping you to find a way forward, at your own pace. Family counselling works to draw everyone in a family together to solve its problems jointly.
Whatever difficulties you’re having as a family, Gail can help.
“It’s amazing I did not realise the extent to which my son had bottled up his feelings – Gail encouraged him to talk and once he began to feel safe, he talked openly for the first time”. Sam really appreciated being listened to. He had picked up on our conflict and it was beginning to affect him badly, I am so pleased we found the strength to get support.”

“I felt incredibly positive. I really liked Gail and she just felt like she was very grounded, she knew what was going on and I didn’t think she would be scary or off-putting for my daughter who was only 13 at the time.”
